What is Electrostatic Painting

What is Electrostatic Painting?

Electrostatic Spray Painting utilises specialised coating application equipment. A negative charge is applied to the paint as it is propelled through the gun. Paint particles with the same charge repel each other forming a mist as the paint is released from the gun. The paint is drawn to the metal target which is grounded and holds a positive charge. Scientifically, this concept is known as Coulomb’s Law whereby “Opposites Attract”. Unlike conventional spray paint applications that only apply paint to the surface directly in front of the spray gun an electrostatic coating application wraps the paint around the target ensuring an even thickness and superior fish.
